CD Projekt Red is doing a careful advertising campaign for Cyberpunk 2077, creating huge expectations among gamers. Especially after presenting at the E3 2018 a cinematic trailer of the game. While there is no public video gameplay yet, yes that the company has shown it behind closed doors, allowing various media to test the experience in the first person. The details of those tests have transcended, giving more details about what the game will be.
The action will be developed in the first person, although the cinematics is in the third person, following the misadventures of a character called “V”, which can be chosen between being a man or a woman. Since it is a role-playing game, the company has chosen to rely entirely on the Cyberpunk 2020 role-play – yay! – maintaining the characteristics of Strength, Constitution, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technology and Coldness – so it eliminates Empathy, Movement, Attractiveness and Luck, and unfolds Body Type in Strength and Constitution.
During the game, the damage points inflicted will be shown on the enemies, and although the shootings will not have a frenetic pace, it will have more rhythm than in Fallout 4. There will be a time-bullet aptitude to reduce the game speed to aim and shoot better. In the case of healings, they will be done using an inhaler, which I assume will be full of nanobots that will take care of curing the character. In addition, you can be accompanied by other NPCs as in The Witcher 3, so that they are not mere mission submitters.
The Night City areas to explore will be Downtown, Watson, Westbrook, Heywood, Pacifica and Santo Domingo. The player can access new zones based on a skill called street credit, which will go up as specific clothing is used; a jacket could add 5% to the ability to access new places, and also goes up when performing missions.
The character can be totally personalized with different options of tattoos, clothes, sex, and others. Since it is a cyberpunk 2077 setting, clothes can also count as body armour or added to coldness to intimidate. CD Projekt Red has chosen not to create character classes, deciding on the way depending on the skills and attributes of the player, although there will be the choice of influences of the character in his youth, which will have an impact on how he treated the NPC.
The game is for adult people since all who have seen the demo indicate that there is a lot of explicit language and violence that in any other game of recent years. That means to use and abuse of drugs, tacos, people dismembered everywhere.
Cyber–implants. will not be lacking either, from which the player will be able to put those he wants and obtain advantages -for example, a hand implant to grip the weapons with greater firmness-, and a wide offer of legal, military and directly illegal weapons in the black market. There will be different skills and different ways of solving situations – for example, hacking to remotely open a door, or engineering to open a side panel and open the door in a more direct way. And, finally, there will be vehicle driving and car chases at high speed, integrating the user interface directly on the windshield of the vehicle.
