Although the manufacturer seems to be giving its last throes in the sector, HTC is still struggling to return to the first level of the smartphone market offering devices more and more complete. The last example? the HTC U12+, a device that we had the opportunity to try and that has left us some really positive feelings. We do not know if the Taiwanese manufacturer will return to the top of the sector but what is clear after our analysis of the HTC U12+ Review, is that the Asian firm has done an excellent job.
HTC U12+ Review: Build
And the first thing that stands out in this HTC U12+ is its incredible design. We are talking about a phone that, to begin with, has quite moderate dimensions despite the 6 inches of its screen. The secret? Like other manufacturers, HTC is committed to the screen of the HTC U12+ 18: 9 aspect, taking advantage of the panel 80.3 percent of the front of the device, making it a whole screen with a very attractive design.
The finishes of the HTC U12+ are another of the strengths of this device. As it could not be otherwise in a high-end, the new HTC phone has a chassis made of noble materials. In this case, we have a metal and glass case that gives the device a really nice look and feel.
Available in red, blue and black, choosing a tone for the HTC U12+ will be a real challenge since the three colours available are really beautiful. And since we talked about touch we want to highlight a detail of the HTC U12+ buttons that have surprised us a lot; The volume control keys and the on/off button of the phone are haptic offering a very different feel to what we are used to.
And the fact that it is different from the others has enchanted us. What we did not like so much is that the HTC U12+ does not have a 3.5 mm output to connect headphones. While it is true that it is a trend in high, we could not be more in disagreement with this path that is taking the market.
Being a high range it was expected that the HTC U12+ mount the best hardware on the market: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6 GB of RAM And 64 or 128 GB of internal storage, expandable through its slot for microSD cards, which make that the HTC U12+ works very smoothly, moving the custom interface based on Android 8.0 Oreo smoothly and accurately, in addition to running any game or application without any problems in our testing with HTC U12+ Review
The screen of the HTC U12+ is one of the most surprising points. To begin with, it has a 6-inch Super LCD panel of the sixth generation that reaches a QHD+ resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels) and a density of 537 dpi and offers vivid and clear colours that invite us to enjoy multimedia content, more if we consider the impressive speaker that mounts the device and that makes watching movies or series on the HTC U12+ a real delight.
And we can not forget its 3,500 mAh battery that in our testing gives the HTC U12+ Review a very decent autonomy, more if we take into account the screen and the hardware in general that mounts this device. Of course, even with QuickCharge, we are left without wireless charging in the new HTC flagship.
HTC U12+ Review: Camera
In the section of the HTC cameras, it surprises us by showing a phone that makes some amazing captures. On paper, we have a dual camera system with the first lens of 12 megapixels with aperture f / 1.7 and a second telephoto lens of 16 megapixels with aperture f / 2.6.
As you can see in the examples of photographs taken with the camera of the HTC U12+, the device behaves really well-getting results above the average in any environment, rising as one of the smartphones with the best camera on the market.
And the same thing happens with the 8-megapixel front camera that manages to make self-portraits that will delight lovers of selfies.
